Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia urged India to design, build and export more telecom technologies.

What happened

Speaking at India Mobile Congress 2026, Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said India’s next telecom phase should move beyond connectivity expansion toward domestic technology design, development and manufacturing. He highlighted the country’s indigenous end-to-end 4G stack, expanding 5G rollout and stronger telecom manufacturing ecosystem, and called for Indian products to reach global markets. The event featured participation from more than 100 countries.
