RBI cancels registrations of 10 NBFCs after companies surrender them
The RBI cancelled Certificates of Registration for 10 NBFCs after surrenders linked to exits, exemptions, or corporate dissolution.
What happened
The RBI cancelled the Certificates of Registration of 10 NBFCs under Section 45-IA(6) of the RBI Act. Six companies exited the NBFC business, while one qualified as an unregistered Core Investment Company and another as an unregistered Type I NBFC. Two ceased to exist through amalgamation, merger, dissolution, or voluntary strike-off.
Why it matters
The cancellations remove these companies from the RBI-registered NBFC category, either because they left the business, no longer required registration, or ceased to be legal entities.
