Uttarakhand Delegation Meets Bengal Governor During Youth Sangam Exchange
A Uttarakhand student delegation met West Bengal Governor R. N. Ravi during a cultural exchange visit hosted by IIT Kharagpur.
What happened
The delegation, coordinated by Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University, is visiting West Bengal under the seventh phase of the government’s Youth Sangam programme. It met Governor R. N. Ravi on 8 October 2026 to discuss education, cultural exchange and stronger connections among young people. Participants also visited Kolkata’s Prinsep Ghat and the Sundarbans.
Why it matters
The programme gives participants from 20 states and Union territories direct exposure to different cultural, educational and development settings, supporting national unity and mutual understanding.
