IITM Pune hosted an early-career research workshop and ESTIC 2026 curtain-raiser focused on collaboration, skills and scientific innovation.
What happened
IITM Pune hosted the APARC Early Career Researcher Workshop on October 11, 2026, alongside a curtain-raiser for ESTIC 2026. Around 120 Indian and international participants joined discussions on research careers, funding, mobility, infrastructure, computing access and AI in Earth sciences. The programme also included technical training, editorial guidance and networking with global research organisations.
Why it matters
The workshop gives early-career Earth and atmospheric researchers access to career guidance, technical tools and international networks while highlighting uneven access to funding, infrastructure and computing resources.
