NVIDIA Opens Vera Rubin Designs to Scale AI Factories Worldwide
NVIDIA contributed Vera Rubin rack and compute designs to open standards for scaling AI factory infrastructure.
What happened
At the Open Compute Project Global Summit, NVIDIA contributed Vera Rubin rack and compute tray designs through its open MGX architecture. The updated MGX 1.2 specification supports rack deployments of up to 250kW, with liquid cooling, standardized power and cooling interfaces, and interoperable infrastructure. NVIDIA also released open-source DSX software components for configuring networks, validating clusters, managing racks and provisioning bare-metal systems.
Why it matters
Open specifications give equipment makers, colocation providers and data-centre operators a common design target, while modular infrastructure can simplify deployment, manufacturing, servicing and reuse.
