Google Health Expands Tracking, Premium Insights and Wearable Partnerships
Google is adding health-monitoring tools, broader activity detection and new data integrations across its wearable ecosystem.
What happened
Health Guardian features will roll out later this month on Fitbit Air and Fitbit Edge for Google Health Premium subscribers, including blood-pressure and insulin-resistance trends. Automatic activity tracking will expand from 10 to more than 100 activities across supported devices, with nearly twice the detection accuracy and more than half the missed workouts. New integrations include Flo Health, Abbott, MyFitnessPal and Function Health.
Why it matters
The changes bring more health, fitness, nutrition and lab data into one app, while several advanced insights remain tied to a paid subscription or specific markets.
