Google’s Fitbit Edge Opens Pre-Orders At $179.99 With Seven-Day Battery
Google has opened pre-orders for Fitbit Edge, a $179.99 fitness tracker launching in stores on October 27.
What happened
Google’s new Fitbit Edge combines a slim design with a display, GPS, automatic workout recognition, health sensors and personalized coaching through Google Health Premium. It tracks more than 50 exercise modes and offers up to seven days of battery life. Pre-orders are open on the Google Store and through retail partners, with sales beginning October 27.
Why it matters
The device gives consumers a lower-priced option between a full smartwatch and a simpler fitness band, while some coaching features require a separately sold subscription.
