Google and Flo plan consent-based women’s health data syncing
Google is launching a multi-year partnership with Flo Health to connect women’s health data, coaching, research, and products.
What happened
Google will partner with Flo Health, which says it is used by more than 80 million women monthly, across four areas: consent-based app syncing, Google Health Coach integration, women’s health research, and new products. Starting early next year, users will be able to connect Flo cycle data with Google Health metrics, but only through separate, explicit permissions.
Why it matters
The partnership could give users a more unified view of cycle, sleep, recovery, and other health data while keeping sharing opt-in. Flo data shared with Google Health will not be used for advertising or sold.
