Google Built-In Cars Get Faster App Discovery and YouTube Audio

Google is redesigning its in-car Play Store and adding apps and uninterrupted YouTube audio when drivers shift into drive.

What happened

Cars with Google built-in will receive a redesigned Google Play interface that adapts to each vehicle’s display and enables faster app discovery and downloads. New apps including STARZ, Firefox, Ludo King and JioHotstar are arriving. YouTube audio will continue in the background when users shift from park to drive, but the feature requires YouTube Premium.

Why it matters

The update expands entertainment and app access across Google-built-in vehicles while separating parked video viewing from driving-time audio use. It covers more than 100 models across 16 brands.
