Facebook Lets Users Directly Shape Feed And Reels Recommendations
Meta is adding AI tools that let Facebook users describe interests and adjust Feed and Reels recommendations in real time.
What happened
Facebook is rolling out “Your algorithm,” a tool that lets users add and manage topics they want in Feed and Reels. New feedback prompts also allow users to explain what they want more or less of in their own words. Large language models will combine that input with existing signals and update recommendations within the same session.
Why it matters
Users gain more direct control over recommendations, while Facebook’s ranking systems become more responsive to changing interests, context and intent expressed in natural language.
