Europe’s Researchers Gain Open AI Tools and Compute Through NVIDIA Pledge
NVIDIA is providing European researchers, startups and SMEs with open tools, training, compute access and collaborative support.
What happened
At the AI in Science Summit in Dublin, the European Commission launched the AI in Science Enablers Initiative, linked to the RAISE framework. NVIDIA joined by offering open models, datasets and software, free courseware, compute resources, technical support and collaborations. Its pledge includes access through European AI factories and supercomputing centres, while 35 new supercomputers are being developed across Europe.
Why it matters
The programme lowers access barriers for smaller labs, early-career researchers, startups and SMEs by combining open technology, training and infrastructure support. The planned systems are expected to serve more than 3 million researchers.
