India Launches Trade Command Centre to Track Approvals, Exports
The commerce ministry launched a data platform to monitor trade performance, applications, approvals and regulatory processes.
What happened
Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal inaugurated the National Strategic Trade Command Centre in New Delhi. Developed by the commerce department, the platform brings together dashboards covering trade performance, export schemes, application backlogs, processing timelines, regional trends and compliance. Goyal also urged regular, and when necessary weekly, inter-ministerial meetings to clear pending SCOMET applications quickly.
Why it matters
The platform gives policymakers an integrated view of trade operations, enabling continuous monitoring and faster identification of administrative bottlenecks and pending approvals.
