NCR Polluting Industries Face Mandatory Live PTZ Camera Monitoring
The CAQM has expanded mandatory remote monitoring to all industries covered by Statutory Direction 98 in the NCR.
What happened
The CAQM now requires covered industries to install pan-tilt-zoom cameras at fuel-feeding points, gas meters, emission-testing locations and, where applicable, fume-extraction areas. Units must install and operate the cameras, including real-time video transmission, by 30 November 2026. The CPCB and state pollution authorities will access and monitor the feeds.
Why it matters
The order gives regulators technology-enabled visibility into fuel use, industrial emissions and compliance with pollution-control requirements, adding to existing environmental obligations.
