Indian Navy’s INS Sudarshini Departs Oman, Continues Lokayan 2026 Ocean Deployment
The Indian Navy’s sail training ship INS Sudarshini has departed Oman after a four-day Salalah visit.
What happened
The three-masted INS Sudarshini left Salalah after completing its 14–17 October 2026 visit, continuing the historic Lokayan 2026 ocean deployment. Professional exchanges and sporting activities during the port call strengthened ties between the Indian Navy and Oman’s Royal Navy. The deployment is developing sailors’ seamanship, resilience and leadership while advancing maritime goodwill.
Why it matters
The visit deepens India-Oman naval and people-to-people ties, while the deployment supports practical training and presents India as a partner in maritime cooperation.
