Rajnath Singh to Represent India at SCO Leaders’ Meeting in Tajikistan
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will represent India at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation’s 25th government heads’ meeting in Dushanbe.
What happened
Singh will visit Tajikistan on October 19 and 20, 2026, to represent India at the SCO Council of Heads of Government meeting. The agenda covers trade, investment, connectivity, innovation, cultural exchanges and humanitarian cooperation, alongside reviews of ongoing initiatives and the organisation’s financial and institutional functioning. India’s participation will focus on practical regional cooperation.
Why it matters
The meeting gives India a formal platform to discuss cooperation affecting trade, investment, connectivity, innovation and digital public infrastructure with other SCO members.
