European Broadcasters Gain Sovereign AI Standards as Video Search Speeds Up
The EBU is expanding sovereign AI standards, while GPU acceleration makes video search faster for UFA production teams.
What happened
The European Broadcasting Union and NVIDIA are expanding standards for public-service broadcasters deploying AI agents, covering sovereign cloud, open models, data governance and security. Microsoft, Nebius and systems integrators are participating. Separately, Adobe’s GPU-accelerated video search delivers about five-times faster embedding generation, up to four-times higher throughput and up to five-times lower latency, helping UFA find specific moments in its archives.
Why it matters
Broadcasters can deploy AI while retaining greater control over sensitive editorial data, infrastructure and models. Production teams can search large video libraries faster, reducing the time needed to locate usable footage.
