Fashion capitals turn to new silhouettes, styling hacks and alterations
Google Trends highlights distinct fashion searches across seven major global fashion capitals.
What happened
Google’s analysis found rising interest in empire-waist dresses in London and Milan, and silk scarves used as tops or shawls in New York and São Paulo. Copenhagen searches are increasing for layering and sturdy footwear, while ballet flats and loafers lead footwear searches in Tokyo and Paris. London also shows stronger interest in designer hair accessories and headbands.
Why it matters
The search data shows sharply different style interests by city, spanning clothing shapes, accessories, footwear, repairs and do-it-yourself alterations.
