Google brings personalized Gemini assistance to cars through Android Auto
Google is rolling out hands-free Gemini answers linked to users’ Google apps on Android Auto and compatible built-in car systems.
What happened
Gemini is now available on Android Auto and cars with Google built-in, enabling drivers to ask questions naturally without touching their phones. With permission, Personal Intelligence can use Gmail, Calendar, Photos, Maps, YouTube and Search to provide tailored answers. The feature is rolling out to eligible personal Google accounts aged 18 and older, excluding several markets and Workspace users.
Why it matters
Drivers can retrieve information, get directions and manage complex requests hands-free, while choosing which apps Gemini can access and switching the feature off anytime.
