Mysuru Craft Fair Gives 80 Artisans Free Market Stalls
A nine-day Mysuru fair gave 80 artisans from 12 states and union territories a platform to sell traditional products.
What happened
The Social Justice and Empowerment Ministry concluded its nine-day Shilp Samagam fair at Mysuru’s Dasara Exhibition Grounds. Of 83 stalls, 80 were allocated to artisans, including 37 women, representing 12 states and union territories. The fair showcased handicrafts, handlooms, food products and other traditional goods, while artisans received support including free stalls, travel costs, allowances and transport assistance.
Why it matters
The programme removes participation costs for artisans from targeted communities and gives them direct access to customers, supporting market access, entrepreneurship and livelihoods.
