Guwahati Fair Connects 75 Artisans With Buyers and Wider Markets

An eight-day government fair in Guwahati is showcasing traditional products from 75 artisans, including 31 women.

What happened

The Social Justice and Empowerment Ministry’s Shilp Samagam Mela 2026 is running at Khanapara’s Farm Gate in Guwahati through Wednesday, 28 October. Seventy-five artisans, including 31 women, are displaying about 40 varieties of handloom and handicraft products. The fair enables direct sales and customer connections, while promoting the Bharat-TULIP initiative’s physical and e-commerce market access.

Why it matters

Artisans linked to disadvantaged communities gain a direct route to customers, product visibility and potential market expansion, supporting stronger livelihood opportunities.
