European Teams Deploy NVIDIA Earth-2 Models for Localized Weather Forecasting
NVIDIA's open Earth-2 models are being adapted across Europe for regional weather, air-quality, solar and climate-risk applications.
What happened
NVIDIA added StormScope EU to Earth-2, using European weather data and EUMETSAT satellite observations to forecast cloud conditions across 16 channels every 10 minutes. AXA is simulating more than 1,000 seasons to study cyclone risk, while TotalEnergies evaluates solar-radiation nowcasts. University of Manchester researchers are adapting CorrDiff for UK air-quality modeling on local systems.
Why it matters
The models let organizations combine regional forecasts with proprietary data, supporting more detailed cyclone-risk assessments, solar-generation planning and environmental analysis.
