European Governments Build Controlled AI Systems With Open Models
European governments and partners are deploying open AI models for public services while retaining control of data and infrastructure.
What happened
NVIDIA says partners and governments are developing open-model systems across Europe, including Poland’s healthcare and employment platforms, Germany’s sovereign cloud initiative and France’s collaborative workspace. Poland’s labour platform is designed to support more than 400 offices. In the U.K. and Germany, partners are also creating one-million-record synthetic persona datasets for testing public-service AI.
Why it matters
Public bodies can adapt models to local languages, apply their own safeguards and keep sensitive information on infrastructure they control, including for classified workloads.
