Guwahati Fair Puts 75 Traditional Artisans Directly Before Buyers

An eight-day Guwahati fair is showcasing products from 75 artisans, including 31 women, through October 28.

What happened

The Social Justice and Empowerment Ministry’s second Shilp Samagam Mela of 2026 is taking place at Khanapara’s Farm Gate in Guwahati. Open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. through October 28, it features about 40 varieties of handloom and handicraft products. The 75 participating artisans can sell directly to visitors and build customer connections.

Why it matters

The fair gives artisans direct sales, product visibility and access to potential customers. It also promotes India-TULIP, which supports marketing through physical outlets and e-commerce platforms.
