States Put ₹22,200 Crore Of Securities Up For Auction

Twelve state governments will raise ₹22,200 crore through securities auctions on September 29, 2026.

What happened

Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Jharkhand, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal will auction securities through RBI’s E-Kuber system. Competitive bids run from 10:30–11:30 a.m.; non-competitive bids close at 11 a.m.

Why it matters

The auction gives investors access to state government stocks, with up to 10% of each issue reserved for eligible non-competitive bids. Banks can count these securities as eligible government investments for statutory liquidity requirements.
