Google adds blood pressure and insulin trends for Pixel Watch users

Google is rolling out Health Guardian wellness and safety tools for Pixel Watch users through its Google Health app.

What happened

Google’s Health Guardian features are rolling out in the Google Health app this week for Pixel Watch users. They can set up blood pressure trends, insulin resistance trends and sleep breathing quality metrics. The tools are included free with Pixel Watch 3, 4 and 5 devices, with the first trend reports due in early October. Fitbit Air users will receive insulin resistance and blood pressure trends later this year through a Google Health Premium subscription. Pixel Watch 4 and 5 users in selected European countries also get Breathing Emergency Detection, designed to prompt an emergency-services call after severe blood-oxygen drops. Availability varies by country and device.

Why it matters

Compatible Pixel Watch owners gain monthly wellness trend reports, while selected European users get an emergency-calling feature. The tools are informational, not clinical diagnostics; some require Google Health Premium and regional availability is limited.
