SUT Academy Adds Robotic Surgery, Computer-Aided Diagnosis Facilities
SUT Academy introduced robotic surgery and computer-aided diagnosis facilities during its 15th graduation ceremony in Thiruvananthapuram.
What happened
Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan attended Sree Uthradom Thirunal Academy of Medical Sciences’ 15th Graduation Day ceremony in Thiruvananthapuram as chief guest. He highlighted the institution’s role in Kerala’s medical education and healthcare landscape, and said its new robotic surgery and computer-aided diagnosis facilities were important for keeping education and care aligned with technological advances. The ceremony saw 60 women and 32 men receive undergraduate medical degrees, while five women and two men received postgraduate degrees. Radhakrishnan said technology can support doctors but cannot replace their human qualities, including listening, understanding and taking responsibility.
Why it matters
The facilities connect medical training and patient care with artificial intelligence, robotics and advanced diagnostics. The graduating cohort also shows women forming the majority of both undergraduate and postgraduate recipients at this ceremony.
