AI Quizzes and Media Summaries Give Students Cleaner Study Workflows
Chrome adds Gemini-powered study features, tab organisation, cross-device continuity, and reading tools for students.
What happened
Chrome’s latest study tools use Gemini to summarise videos, podcasts, and other audio or video files, explain difficult topics, and generate interactive quizzes from notes, research papers, and YouTube videos. The quiz feature is rolling out in English on desktop in the US and India, with more regions and mobile support planned. Chrome also adds tab groups and split view for organising coursework, saves scroll position and partially completed forms when switching devices, and offers reading mode, custom display settings, and read aloud. On Android, read aloud can create a podcast-like conversation from a webpage.
Why it matters
Students can turn study material into summaries and practice tests, reduce browser clutter, and resume research across devices without losing their place. The quiz feature is currently limited to English desktop users in the US and India.
