NVIDIA Validation Engineers Stress-Test AI Hardware Before Mass Production
NVIDIA validation engineer Sakeena Fiza explains how teams test AI systems for failures before production and customer deployment.
What happened
Sakeena Fiza, a validation engineer at NVIDIA, works in the company’s data center systems engineering lab, testing hardware before mass production. Her team brings up components, integrates boards, investigates firmware and software, and evaluates systems from individual trays through racks, clusters, production lines and customer AI factories. Validation engineers reproduce failures, vary conditions, probe signals and examine thermal, power, mechanical and software variables. Fiza recalled the first system-level detection of NVIDIA’s Rubin GPU, when the team celebrated seeing “NVIDIA Corporation Device.” A single board can contain tens of thousands of components, while a rack may approach half a million.
