Google Gives Enterprise AI Agents Real-Time Avatars Across 97 Languages
Google has launched Gemini 3.8 Live with Live Avatar for enterprise agents, combining live dialogue, video, speech and visual personas.
What happened
Google launched Gemini 3.8 Live with Live Avatar, adding near-real-time video generation to Gemini’s live dialogue models. Available from today in Gemini Enterprise, the feature processes visual and audio inputs together and responds with expressive audio and video, including lip-syncing, facial expressions and turn-taking. It supports multilingual speech-to-speech synchronisation across 97 languages. Enterprises can use preset avatars or create customised ones from a reference image, although custom avatar creation currently requires enterprise allowlisting. Asynchronous tool calling lets the avatar fetch data while continuing the conversation. Google says outputs carry its SynthID watermark.
Why it matters
The launch gives enterprise agents a more visual interface for customer service, interactive walkthroughs and other conversations. Support for 97 languages and custom branded avatars expands how organisations can deploy these agents.
