Residents of a Maharashtra senior citizens’ home participated in a cleanliness campaign, highlighting community-led civic responsibility.
What happened
Senior citizens living at the Jai Shri Ram Senior Citizen Home in Karagani, Maharashtra, took part in cleanliness activities around the facility. The home is operated by the Atpadi Taluka Rural Development Organisation. Their participation formed part of the Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign, which is being conducted under the theme “Participation in cleanliness, Clean India, Developed India.” The campaign promotes active involvement by citizens, institutions and communities in sanitation work. The initiative emphasised that maintaining clean surroundings is a shared responsibility and highlighted the role senior citizens can play in community participation and social awareness.
