Sea becomes ASEAN’s first Vera Rubin adopter as AI use expands
Sea will adopt NVIDIA’s Vera Rubin platform as Southeast Asian partners develop localized AI for businesses, governments and public services.
What happened
At NVIDIA AI Day Singapore, NVIDIA and regional partners showcased AI deployments across Southeast Asia. Sea, the Singapore-founded technology company, became the first ASEAN enterprise to adopt NVIDIA’s Vera Rubin platform. It plans to use the infrastructure to scale AI models and intelligent agents across Shopee, Monee and Garena. Other initiatives include Singapore’s HTX researching Nemotron models for public safety, Viettel AI fine-tuning Vietnamese-language models, and Thailand’s iApp using Nemotron for a legal chatbot serving about 43,000 users. Partners are also applying AI to healthcare, traffic operations, airports, food production and drug discovery.
Why it matters
Vera Rubin gives Sea additional computing infrastructure to expand AI across commerce, financial services and entertainment. The company says these applications support sellers, fraud detection, credit assessment and access to digital financial tools.
