India’s Livestock Insurance Portal to Launch With 13-Language Access
The government will launch a multilingual digital portal to streamline livestock insurance policies, claims, monitoring and reporting nationwide.
What happened
The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying will launch the Livestock Insurance Portal in New Delhi on September 28, 2026. Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh, also known as Lalan Singh, will inaugurate it. The portal will provide an integrated digital platform for issuing policies, settling claims, monitoring and reporting under the department’s livestock insurance scheme. It will be available in Hindi, English and 11 regional languages, allowing livestock farmers to access information and services in familiar languages. The government also says the platform will support real-time monitoring, improved coordination and data-driven management of livestock insurance programmes.
Why it matters
The portal is designed to make livestock insurance services more transparent, accessible and technology-enabled while strengthening risk protection and supporting the livelihood stability of livestock farmers.
