Google Beam reaches six countries, opens workspace access for smaller businesses
Google is expanding Beam to six countries, adding 18 partners and offering bookings through select Industrious workspaces from October.
What happened
Google Beam units are shipping to customers in the U.S., Canada, U.K., France, Germany and Japan, supported by 18 channel partners. HP is supplying the hardware as HP Dimension with Google Beam, which works with Google Meet and Zoom. Google’s eight-week internal study found that teams using Beam felt 50% more connected, found feedback 33% easier to understand and needed 21% fewer follow-up meetings. Bain tested Beam for campus recruiting and interviews, while Netflix and Capital Group are among its first customers. From October, organisations can book Beam at select Industrious locations in Atlanta, Chicago, New York City and Palo Alto.
Why it matters
The extended Industrious network broadens access beyond large customers, allowing startups and other businesses to use Beam for interviews, manager check-ins and client consultations without deploying units themselves.
