Meta expands AI glasses lineup with audio model and lower price
Meta introduced audio glasses, updated Ray-Ban models, new styles, and a $249 Meta Glasses option.
What happened
At Connect, Meta announced Ray-Ban Meta Audio, its first audio glasses, through its partnership with EssilorLuxottica. The 43-gram glasses offer music, calls, and hands-free AI access for up to 12 hours, plus 48 additional hours from the charging case. Pre-orders start at $349, with shipping from October 13. Meta also launched Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3, starting at $449, with up to nine hours of battery life, a 12 MP camera, 3K video, and improved noise reduction. Its broader lineup will exceed 100 options by year-end, including new Meta Glasses styles and a $249 Meta Adventurer model.
Why it matters
Meta is widening its AI-glasses range across price points, designs, markets, and use cases. The $249 Meta Adventurer lowers the entry price, while the audio model adds a glasses-based alternative to earbuds.
