Google Flow Gives Fashion Designers AI Tools For Styling And Runway Budgets
Google partnered with Jane Wade and Sergio Hudson to build AI tools for fashion styling, show visualisation and budget planning.
What happened
Google’s Envisioning Studio, supported by Google Labs, worked with designers Jane Wade and Sergio Hudson before New York Fashion Week to build two tools in Google Flow, its AI creative studio. Wade used Styling Suite to assemble hair, makeup, accessories, shoes and garments on digital models before producing physical samples. The tool helped her identify missing elements without immediately cutting and sewing more pieces. Hudson used Runway Visualization to simulate venue layouts, lighting, props and model paths while working within a strict studio budget. Google says both tools were created through natural-language instructions, without coding, and were used for the designers’ runway shows.
Why it matters
The tools shift parts of fashion production from physical sampling and repeated 3D revisions to digital planning. That can reduce time spent on fittings, materials and production changes, while keeping designers in control of the workflow.
