Waze Brings DreamWorks’ Forgotten Island Characters to Daily Commutes

Waze has launched a global English navigation experience tied to DreamWorks Animation’s Forgotten Island film release.

What happened

Waze is promoting DreamWorks Animation’s Forgotten Island, which reaches theaters on September 25, 2026, through a themed navigation experience. Drivers can use turn-by-turn directions voiced by Jo, the film’s protagonist, voiced by Grammy and Academy Award winner H.E.R. The experience includes Jo’s energetic navigation prompts, a “Nostalgic” Mood featuring her retro boom box, and a navigation arrow modeled on “Jo’s Jeepney,” inspired by Filipino cultural heritage. The feature is available globally in English through the latest Waze app version and can be activated from the Forgotten Island banner in the menu.

Why it matters

The partnership gives Waze a branded in-app entertainment experience while giving DreamWorks a direct promotional channel inside a widely used navigation product ahead of the film’s theatrical release.
