Google Expands Publisher Search Profiles With Multi-Account Control
Google added multi-account management, improved article displays, and broader eligibility to its Search profiles for publishers and creators.
What happened
Google introduced three updates to Search profiles, customizable and verified pages where publishers can consolidate social accounts, recent articles, and links. Media organizations can now claim and manage profiles for multiple publications or sub-brands through one login, rather than switching between accounts. Google also improved the article display: image thumbnails are optimized, and headlines can appear at greater length to improve readability and content discovery. Eligibility has expanded for more U.S. publishers and creators, with the threshold reduced to 10,000 followers across YouTube, Instagram, X, or TikTok. The features are available through users’ Search profiles.
Why it matters
Publishers managing several brands can update their profiles from one account. Longer headlines and improved thumbnails give articles more space in the profile, while the lower threshold opens access to more eligible U.S. creators and publishers.
