Meta Gives APAC Parents More Control Over Teens’ Threads Use
Meta is adding parental supervision tools to Threads for teens and families across Asia Pacific.
What happened
Starting this week, parents and guardians in Asia Pacific can supervise teens’ Threads use through Meta’s Family Center. They can view weekly usage, set daily limits, block access during selected hours, adjust overnight restrictions, manage tagging, and approve some privacy and sensitive-content settings. Parents can also decide whether teens under 16 may loosen Teen Account protections.
Why it matters
Families gain direct controls over screen time, nighttime access, privacy, tagging, and content settings on Threads, extending protections already built into Teen Accounts.
