Apple adds variable aperture and broadcast tools to iPhone filmmaking
Apple updates Final Cut Camera with variable aperture, pro controls, and broadcast features for iPhone creators.
What happened
Apple released Final Cut Camera version 2.4 as a free update on September 29. The redesigned app supports variable aperture on the iPhone 18 Pro, including shutter- and aperture-priority modes. With iOS 27, it also adds video scopes, clean SDI output, and genlock offset for more advanced monitoring and broadcast workflows.
Why it matters
iPhone 18 Pro creators gain direct aperture control, while professional users can monitor colour and exposure and send clean video signals for broadcast-quality streaming.
