Textile Bodies Run Cleanliness and Waste Management Drives Across India

Government textile organisations conducted cleanliness, recycling, plantation and school book-donation activities under Swachhata Hi Seva 2026.

What happened

The Jute Corporation of India cleaned public sites after an idol immersion and at a temple in West Bengal. The Textiles Committee held a nationwide volunteer cleanliness drive. The National Institute of Fashion Technology segregated floral waste, composted it where possible and promoted reuse and recycling across offices. Other bodies donated books and planted trees.

Why it matters

The activities promote waste segregation, recycling, cleaner public and religious sites, environmental awareness, and additional educational resources for school students.
