NCR Tightens Dust Controls and Pollution Checks Under Revised GRAP Schedule
CAQM approved stricter NCR measures covering construction dust, pollution enforcement and seasonal sports activities.
What happened
The Commission for Air Quality Management approved revisions to the NCR’s Graded Response Action Plan. Web-portal monitoring for dust at eligible construction and demolition projects now extends beyond municipal limits to other designated urban, industrial and highway areas; the existing 500-square-metre threshold remains unchanged. Separately, 1,831 violating units faced closure orders by September 17, with 1,479 later cleared to restart after compliance.

More construction projects fall under monitored dust controls, while non-compliant units face enforcement. Businesses operating in covered areas must meet existing requirements to avoid closure orders.
