Government Gives 662 Free Assistive Devices to 114 Senior Citizens
The government will distribute 662 free assistive devices worth over ₹10 lakh to 114 senior citizens in Delhi-NCR.
What happened
Under the Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana, Social Justice Minister Virendra Kumar will distribute 662 devices worth more than ₹10 lakh to 114 senior citizens living in Delhi-NCR homes. The equipment, identified through individual assessments, includes wheelchairs, hearing aids, walkers, walking sticks and medical supports. Minister B. L. Verma will also attend the event.
Why it matters
Eligible senior citizens receive essential mobility and support equipment without charge, directly supporting independent living and dignity. The scheme has reached more than 10 lakh seniors nationwide since 2017.
