Water Minister Puts Community-Led Conservation At Centre Of National Effort

What happened

Water Minister C.R. Patil met conservation workers involved in restoring rivers, ponds and lakes, harvesting rainwater, removing waste and mobilising local communities. Participants shared results including more than 100 restored ponds, 33 revived lakes, over 2.47 lakh kilograms of waste removed from riverbanks and more than 120 metric tonnes cleared in Kanpur. Patil urged specific targets and measurable improvements.
