India, Jordan Explore Expanded Textile Trade and Investment Partnerships

India and Jordan discussed expanding textile trade, sourcing, investment, joint ventures and institutional cooperation.

What happened

A Jordanian delegation led by Investment Ministry Secretary-General Zaher Al Qatarnah met India’s textiles secretary in New Delhi. Talks covered bilateral trade, sourcing, investment and joint ventures across apparel, textiles, technical textiles, cotton products and made-ups. Jordan imported about $2 billion of textiles and apparel globally in 2025; India supplied roughly $48 million, or 2.4% of its imports.

Why it matters

Jordan is already India’s fourth-largest textile supplier, but India’s 2.4% share leaves identified scope for more sourcing, investment and industry partnerships.
