NCR Pollution Checks Find 85 Violations; 28 DG Sets Face Sealing
CAQM reported 197 NCR inspections in 17 days, identifying 85 violations and proposing closures, sealing, directives and environmental compensation.
What happened
The Enforcement Task Force reviewed NCR enforcement from 8 to 24 September and received reports of 197 inspections: 111 industrial, 76 involving diesel generators, and 10 at construction or demolition sites. Violations were reported in 85 cases. Proposed action includes closing four construction projects and one industrial unit, sealing 28 generator sets, issuing compliance directions in 17 cases and imposing environmental compensation in 10.
Why it matters
Non-compliant industrial, construction and diesel-generator operations face direct restrictions, financial penalties and possible closure as NCR pollution enforcement intensifies.
