WTO Members Review Negotiations Six Months After MC14
WTO members reviewed progress on the negotiating agenda and discussed how to advance talks after MC14.
What happened
The Trade Negotiations Committee met on 1 October to assess the WTO’s negotiating agenda six months after the 14th Ministerial Conference in Yaoundé. Members heard updates from negotiating-body chairs on the state of their talks and shared views on advancing the work. The WTO Director-General also cited concerns about the pace of negotiations.
Why it matters
The meeting shows that negotiations remain active but that progress is a concern for WTO members and the Director-General.
