Gemini Live Adds Real-Time Visual Assistance Across Compatible Android Devices

Guided Vision brings conversational, camera-based visual assistance to supported Android users, including blind and low-vision people.

What happened

Guided Vision is now available in Gemini Live on compatible Android devices, letting users share their camera for spoken descriptions, follow-up questions and framing cues. It supports tasks such as reading fine print, locating objects and understanding surroundings. The feature runs on Android 9 and above where Gemini Live is supported, but is not designed for navigation, obstacle detection or safe-travel guidance.

Why it matters

The feature expands practical visual assistance for blind and low-vision users, while also supporting older adults and people who need help reading fine print or low-light text.
