RBI processed 16,844 Citizen’s Charter applications in September, with 99.9% completed within the prescribed timeline.
What happened
RBI received 17,200 applications in September 2026 and processed 16,844, including 16,822 within the prescribed timeline and 22 beyond it. At month-end, 2,666 applications remained pending; 20 were beyond timeline. The Charter now covers 206 services after one addition, eight deletions and one timeline change.
Why it matters
Applicants received decisions within the stated timeline in nearly all processed cases, while 2,646 pending applications remained within timeline at month-end.
