Cotton Farmers Get Digital Buying Tools as Government Showcases Supply-Chain Reforms

India’s Textile Ministry will showcase technology-led cotton procurement reforms at a Hyderabad event on October 6, 2026.

What happened

The Textile Ministry, through the Cotton Corporation of India, will hold a Reform Utsav 2026 demonstration in Hyderabad on October 6, 2026. It will present digital farmer registration, slot booking, procurement communication and Aadhaar-enabled payments, alongside quality assessment and traceability measures. The event will also highlight high-density planting and the Kasturi Cotton India quality initiative.

Why it matters

Digital procurement is intended to reduce procedural complexity, improve transparency and give farmers clearer information, while quality initiatives target stronger recognition and market acceptance for Indian cotton.
