Pension Court to Hear 897 Senior and Family Pensioner Complaints

Jitendra Singh will chair India’s 17th Pension Court in New Delhi on October 5, 2026, covering 897 complaints.

What happened

The Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare Department will hold the 17th Pension Court at the Indian Institute of Public Administration in New Delhi. Chaired by Minister of State Jitendra Singh, it will address 897 complaints from very senior and family pensioners across 24 ministries and departments. Participation will be available in person or through video conferencing.

Why it matters

The forum offers pensioners an alternative to costly, time-consuming litigation. Across its previous 16 sessions, it resolved 20,676 of 28,797 complaints on the spot, a 71.79% success rate.
